Mel Gibson’s New Passion: Judah Maccabee

Mel Gibson, friend of Jews? You might say no if you’ve ever heard or read anything from a tabloid or news outlet.  But wasn’t it Mel who was behind one of the greatest films about The Greatest Jew who ever Lived (and still lives!) . I’m talking about the Passion of the Christ, the film that brought to light the most realistic picture of 1st century Israel and what life was like in a world that most of us can only imagine while we read through the Gospels.

Maccabee and HanukkahCall it redemption or call it love, but Mel Gibson is continuing his venture to bring warmth and meaning to the Jewish culture through his next film project about Judah Maccabee, the Jewish hero who is the source of Hanukkah.  (the film remains unnamed as of yet). As a believer in Yeshua (Jesus)  I am so glad that Gibson is bringing to the silver screens something that is worthy of watching. In the midst of all the dumbing down of America through titles like “American Pie” and “40 Year Old Virgin” thank God, that there are directors out there who care about this country enough to show how we got here. Like it or not, America was founded on Hebrew roots, the constitution was based upon Biblical concepts and laws, and thank God for that fact or we could be drowning in the spiritual level of Amsterdam or France (nonexistent).

Although you may disagree that Mel Gibson should direct this movie, Judah Maccabee is a hero and most people have never heard of him nor have any interest, but many people also don’t know about the majority of the Old Testament, (the source of the story of Judah Maccabee comes from the books of Maccabees which is held as canonical by the catholic church but not the protestant church)

Question for you: Do you think Mel Gibson is a rascal trying to make amends to the Jewish people or a genuine good-hearted soul seeking to bring truth to the masses.

Jerusalem History in 5 Minutes FLAT!

This video is well done and clearly illustrates the history of Jerusalem.

The entire world has its eyes on this plot of land in the middle east, such a tiny area and yet history revolves around it.

Have you prayed for the peace of Jerusalem today? Pray for those who still need to hear the Truth of the Word –

Yeshua the Messiah says to the learned in Israel – “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, (John 5:39)  .. it isn’t I who will accuse you before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, in whom you put your hopes. If you really believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me. But since you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?”(John 5:46-47)

Earlier the Messiah says this:

“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. (John 5:24-25)

What a gift!!  what a gift.. its beyond measure the grace and mercy our Heavenly Father has for us because while we were yet in our sinful wicked ways, he paid the price and gave us eternal life!  AND…. all we need to do is believe?? You see, once you believe, once you grasp that the Messiah is indeed Yeshua (Jesus) whom Moses spoke about, whom all the Law prophesied about, your heart will be transformed and the Holy Spirit can live inside of you and show you the way to live in a Godly manner and you can have Joy unspeakable! Hope beyond measure – Hope for a future with our loving God!

Many in Jerusalem are lost! They need to know the truth.. they are dead in their sins, what they think is saving them is only killing them. You cannot save yourself and if you think you can you are spitting in the face of your own Creator!  Lift up your eyes to HIM who sits on the the throne and recognize that we are so so so lost without Him.

Pope says Jews are not to blame for the death of Yeshua

You’ll be seeing lots of headlines now with the new book by Pope Benedict coming out:Pope-benedict

Pope exonerates Jews for Jesus’ death in new book

Pope’s New Book: Jews Not to Blame for Killing Jesus

Who Killed Jesus? In His New Book Pope Benedict XVI Probes the Great Questions Surrounding the Last Week of Jesus’ Earthly Life

These are just a few headlines out there.

Does the pope or anyone reading these articles have any idea as to what the Bible says about this subject? at all? Of course the Jewish people of the time were chanting: Crucify Him! Crucify Him!  and of course the Romans had part in it as well– Who do you think invented the cross execution?  But should we take part in such discussions over and over and over again? NO! This subject won’t help anyone feel better about anything, whether you are a Jew, Roman, Italian, American, Canadian, British, South African, or Saudi Arabian.    The point is that Yeshua Messiah died! How he died does line up with the Old Testament prophecies and because He died, WE HAVE BEEN REDEEMED!!!! Hallelujah!!!   Rejoice people that Yeshua (Jesus) died for us, and rejoice that he isn’t still dead like all the false gods out there : Buddha, Muhammed, Popes, Joseph Smith, and whoever else people worship today (pop stars, your children, your wife or husband, etc).

yeshua on crossIf you haven’t made Yeshua Messiah your Savior, find out more about Him , read the New Testament and go back and search the Old Testament and find out how much He indeed loves you.  Make him the Lord of your life and you will inherit everlasting life with  Him! How amazing is his grace, that he should save a wretched soul like mine! May Yahweh Bless you today!
